Student dentists in Birmingham are offering dental patients the chance to have treatment carried out, free of charge.
As part of a student dentist training programme, trainee dentists at Birmingham Dental Hospital and The University of Birmingham School of Dentistry will carry out treatment for fillings, crowns, and root canal work under qualified supervision.
Patients who require dentures will also be seen to, but will have to pay a standard NHS fee.
The offer follows the success of a similar recruitment campaign last year which saw student dentists offer treatment to nearly 1,000 patients.
Birmingham Dental Hospital has been providing a range of dental services for the people of West Midlands for over 150 years, and has built up a high national reputation for the quality of its dentist training .
Dr David Attrill, senior lecturer and consultant at the hospital, said: "Following last year's success, we are again asking potential patients to get in touch so that, subject to suitability, we can offer them free treatment in well-equipped facilities."
"If anyone thinks they have a need for routine dental treatment then they may well be eligible."
"The University of Birmingham has a proud reputation for its dentist training, and we would welcome members of the public coming forward. As well as receiving dental care, they would be helping to train the next generation of dentists ."
Anyone interested in the taking up the free treatment offer will need to be assessed for suitability and be able to attend daytime appointments.
