Access to dentists in north Northamptonshire could be boosted by plans to open two new dental surgeries in the area.
The Northamptonshire Teaching Primary Care Trust has set out proposals to open a dental surgery in Kettering, and another to cover Oundle, Thrapston and the surrounding villages.
The move is in response to the findings of the PCT’s public consultation on access to NHS dental services in the county.
Residents of Northamptonshire were urged to take part in the consultation to ensure any future dental services reflect the needs of patients in the area.
A spokesman for the Northamptonshire Teaching said: "We've listened to the people of Northamptonshire, and we're determined that everyone will have easy access to top-quality NHS dental services ."
"This is a long-term programme, but these new surgeries will go a long way towards that goal."
The trust has been advertising for new practices and for more dentists at existing practices across the county.
