A new online dentistry forum is set to be showcased next week at the 2008 British Dental Conference and Exhibition .
The online discussion forum is designed to enable dentists to identify the priorities for research areas in primary care dentistry .
Dentists will be given he chance to voice their opinions on clinical issues and scenarios encountered in everyday practice and get definitive responses on questions they have posed.
In addition, searches on comprehensive literature and evaluation of topics raised will be carried out, with the results passed back to participating dentists who will have easy access to the forum .
Recurring themes will be noted and used to determine priority areas for research funding from the Shirley Glasstone Hughes Trust research fund, which was established in 1991 to provide grants to aid research into dentistry in primary care settings.
The forum will launch on Saturday 3 May at 1.15pm in Exchange Rooms four and five of the 2008 British Dental Conference and Exhibition .
Visitors to the event will also be able to learn more about the forum by visiting the BDA stand in the main exhibition hall.
