With a heritage of over 100 years, WPA is the UK ’s leading 'not-for-profit' (no shareholders) health insurer. The company has over 100 appointed representatives who can visit customers at home or at their work-place to advise on the insurer’s full range of plans.

Customers can choose from 4 levels of cover: Providental Level One (Adults); Providental Level Two; Providental Level One (Children); and Providental First Steps, while company employees and their families can also apply for cover through the WPA Corporate Dental Plan.

Providental Level One (Adults)

The Providental Level One dental plan works on a shared responsibility basis which means premiums are kept low. Although it is not a 'comprehensive' dental plan, customers are provided a large contribution towards many common dental treatments, whether provided privately or by the NHS. Applicants must be aged 18 and over to be eligible for cover.

  • Dental injuries
  • Treatment of oral cancer including reconstructive plastic surgery
  • Treatment of bone cyst of the jaw (ie. not gum cysts)
  • Treatment of tumour if the mouth or jaw
  • Treatment of conditions of the salivary glands
  • Surgical removal of retained buried roots
  • Surgery to the temporomandibular joint
  • NHS cash

Exclusions

  • Treatment outside the UK
  • Dental emergencies
  • General dental treatment
  • Cosmetic/aesthetic treatment
  • Winter sports
  • Scuba diving
  • Motorsports
  • Professional sports

Providental Level Two

Providental Level Two provides cover towards the costs of routine treatment and more serious dental problems and emergencies that may arise. Policyholders must be between 18 to 69 years.

  • Shared responsibility - customer 25% / WPA 75%
  • General dental treatment
  • Dental emergencies
  • Dental injuries
  • Treatment of oral cancer including reconstructive plastic surgery
  • Treatment of bone cyst of the jaw (ie. not gum cysts)
  • Treatment of tumour if the mouth or jaw
  • Treatment of conditions of the salivary glands

  • Parental accommodation

Providental Level One (Children)

Cover designed specifically for children aged 4 to 17 years. Operates in much the same way as the adult cover on a shared responsibility basis and the benefits/policy exclusions are the same as the Providental Level One and Two plans.

Providental First Steps

Cover specifically designed for infants aged 0 to 3 years.
