Launched in 1986, Denplan has since gone on to become a leading specialist in dental insurance. The company, part of the AXA PPP Healthcare Group, boasts 6,000 dentist members, 1.5 million registered patients and more than 1,500 company schemes.

Family group discounts, up to 15%, are also available and policyholders have access to a 24-hour worldwide emergency helpline .

Denplan offer patients the following range of dental plans:

Denplan Care - a care contract that allows a patient’s treating dentist to provide an ongoing preventive dental care treatment programme.

Benefits include

Routine and preventive dental care, including

• Examinations
• X-rays
• Necessary fillings
• Hygiene treatment (including scale and polishes)
• Preventive dental advice and therapy
• Extractions

Major restorative care

• Periodontal treatment
• Crowns, bridges, dentures, inlays (excluding laboratory fees)
• Root fillings

Not covered

• Laboratory fees and prescriptions
• Referral to a specialist and specialist treatment
• Treatment carried out anywhere other than at your registered dentist except when covered under your Supplementary Insurance
• Orthodontics, i mplants, cosmetic treatment
• Sedation fees
  

Denplan Essentials – Cover that ensures the basic elements of routine dental care are budgeted for on a monthly basis.

Benefits include

Routine and preventive dental care, including

• Dental examinations
• X-rays
• Scaling and polishing or other hygiene treatment
• Preventive dental advice
• No assessment appointment required

 

Not covered

• Any restorative dental treatments including fillings, crowns, bridges or dentures costs
• Laboratory fees/prescriptions
• Referral to a specialist and specialist treatment
• Orthodontics, implants, cosmetic treatment
• Sedation fees
  

Plans for Children - designed to allow a patient’s dentist to provide their children with the most appropriate dental care programme without being restricted to procedures funded under the NHS.

Implants Upgrade - Cover and benefits towards the cost of dental implant treatment which arise as a result of dental injury.

Denplan Enhance - Interest-free credit to pay for high value, private or cosmetic treatments, with the cost being spread over time. (Denplan Enhance is only offered at selected practices.)

Benefits include

• Treatments that Denplan Enhance can help fund are crowns, bridges, inlays, tooth whitening, implants and straightening, and even dentures.
• Customers are not required to be a Denplan patient to apply for Denplan Enhance.
• Immediate set-up of the interest-free loan – following proof of ID and credit check.
